Compensation and Worker Ownership

Central Co-op is a solidarity cooperative, with consumer and worker shares. Eligible workers who purchase a share of equity in the business may vote in Board elections and serve on the Board as worker trustees, receive returns on their labor in years the Board chooses to allocate patronage dividends, and more.

Our great compensation package includes medical/dental benefits, paid time off for employees who qualify, a staff discount, a 401(k) plan with a company match, and an employee assistance program. We also offer opportunities for employee growth and participation to staff at all levels. Many of our staff enjoy union representation through either UFCW Local 21 or IWW IU 660, depending on their position.
